Groups

Groups are the data structures that tie together users, Group Policies, roles, contacts, and targets. This Main Menu item is only available to accounts with the Group Admin or Group Auditor role.

Management view

Selecting a group shows a List members button and its related roles. Groups can be nested (a group can contain other groups as sub-groups), so the list can be expanded and collapsed per group, or switched to a flat View as list — both available from the Actions menu, which also has Export and Import (JSON format) and a Select submenu (all / none / inverse). Info shows Changes to group, an audit log of edits made to it.

Members

List members opens a dialogue with tabs for Users, Contacts, Roles, and Targets — the direct members of the group (members of any nested sub-groups aren't included).

Editor

Opened via Edit group. Settings are organised across the following tabs.

Core

  • Basic information — name, display name, and description.
  • Restrictions — independently disallow user accounts, contacts, other groups (sub-groups), or targets from being direct members of this group.
  • User membership conditions — turns the group into a dynamic membership group: define conditions under which users automatically gain or lose membership. Membership is recalculated on a schedule, and also after certain events (such as an API call touching a single user).

Policies

Assign or unassign the Group Policies that apply to this group's members.

Groups

Shows which other groups this group is a direct member of (that is, its parent groups in the hierarchy), with an option to add more.

Miscellaneous

Custom fields defined on the group, and additional properties as raw attribute/value pairs.

DVV Settings

Only relevant if the namespace uses group-specific connections for the DVV Muutostietopalvelu optional module: selects which DVV connection profile is used to update this group's members, overriding the namespace's default connection.
